The production used farmland in the Hamilton, Ontario region, approximately 75km southwest of Toronto. The specific field is private agricultural land and not a formal visitor destination, but the broader Hamilton area's Niagara Escarpment countryside — particularly the farmland between Waterdown and Flamborough — has the same rolling field and tree-line character. Scotland: the 2022 series landscape
The HBO 2022 series, shot during the pandemic period with UK-based production infrastructure, used the Scottish Highlands for several key sequence that the book sets in Michigan. Specifically, the landscape sequences showing Henry appearing in wilderness settings — the time-displacement arriving-in-the-wild motif — were shot in the Perthshire and Stirling regions. The Trossachs National Park (between Callander and Aberfoyle) has the dramatic, slightly threatening green landscape quality the series used.
